The Order beneath the veil

Before the ledgers, before the crowns, there was an order that kept its accounts in blood and silence. They did not seek to rule the world — only to remember it correctly. Every identity in this archive was one of their instruments: a mask worn once, then buried in stone.

What you are reading was never meant to survive. The Order sealed the Veil to protect the living from the dead. Its recovery is either a gift or a warning. We have not yet decided which.

Remember what the world forgets

Every identity is a wound the powerful tried to close. The Order reopens them and keeps them from healing wrong.

Move where no record can follow

A name written down can be burned. The Order taught its instruments to leave only silence, and silence is what the archive now inherits.

III

The veil protects the living

What is sealed is sealed for mercy. To decrypt an identity is to accept its debts as your own.
